Welcome to the Randolph County SPCA
It's Time for our Companion Animals
2013 is turning out to be a great year for our community! Asheboro is in a renaissance. It is a great to see our downtown area come alive through the renovation of old buildings into new living spaces, the opening of interesting restaurants and shops as well as the flourishing art scene. Unfortunately, some members or our community are not lucky enough to enjoy the benefits of our economic upturn. Five to six thousand dogs and cats are needlessly killed every year in the GAS CHAMBER of the Randolph County shelter. Through no fault of their own, whether it was due to a of a lack of their human's responsibility, an impulsive adoption, personal or economic problems, these once wanted companion animals were cast off, only to become the responsibility of the government. The Randolph County Animal Shelter has no choice but to euthanize healthy adoptable animals to make room for the new wave arriving daily.
It is time for us to step up and find responsible solutions to stop the killing of these unfortunate animals. Luckily, we do not have to reinvent the wheel. Other communities not far from here have been deeply troubled by the same exact problem and have come up with community based, private solutions. After years of research, Gary Hall, Ally Thomas along with a unique dedicated group of concerned citizens decided to form the Randolph County SPCA, a non profit 501(c) 3 organization.
